Brooding is not a great science. Chicks have to get warmth when they are away from mother hen. Just go to local electrical hardware store, buy good wire, bulb holder, switch plug, 100 watts bulb. Assemble them. You are done. Plug the wire, adjust the height so that the chicks don't huddle together nor they should move far off from the bulb's heat. I maintain temperature above 80 deg F. That's it.
